August 29th, 2018 Cybex Announces Recall of 1989 to 2009 Smith Press Machines

This recall involves the Cybex Smith Press model 5340, manufactured and distributed from 1989 through 1993, and model 5341, manufactured and distributed from 1993 through 2009. The models have a weight bar seated between two parallel vertical tracks on latch pins. The weight bar can be moved up and down to perform upper body and lower body exercises. The equipment is used primarily in fitness facilities. The weight bar was sold with the Smith Press, and the weights were sold separately. The model number is printed on the base of the frame of the Smith Press equipment.

May 10th, 2016 Cybex International Recalls Decline Free Weight Benches Due to Impact Injury Hazard

This recall involves the Olympic Decline free weight bench with model numbers 16060, 16061, 16062 and 16063. The bench consists of a steel frame with an upholstered pad on which the user rests his/her back, and a rack on which the user can engage a 7-foot bar with its weight plates when the user completes the exercise routine. On all of these models the upholstered pad is configured at a 15 degree angle so that, in use, the user's back and shoulders are lower than the user's thighs and knees. A decal bearing the unit's model and serial number is affixed to the tube near where the user's feet are placed when using the unit. The recalled benches have serial numbers C1208 through K0915, which represent manufacture dates of December 2008 through September 2015. "Cybex" is printed on the benches.

AUGUST 25, 2015 CYBEX INTERNATIONAL RECALLS ARM CURL MACHINES DUE TO IMPACT HAZARD

The Arm Curl Machine is a selectorized weight stack product which is intended for a commercial environment. The user sits on an adjustable seat, selects the amount of weight, and grabs the swivel handles to do a curl motion toward the user. Four different model arm curls use swivel handles – 4535, 4821, 11070 and 12070. The serial numbers affected were manufactured between 1996-2008. The serial number is found on the frame tube of the weight stack by the floor. The weld that holds the swivel handles to the frame may fatigue and become separated from the input arm and potentially hit the user in the head or face.

January 9, 2014 Cybex International Recalls Decline Free Weight Benches Due to Fall and Injury Hazards

The Decline model free weight benches are designed for use in professional gyms and come in three model numbers: 16060, 16061 and 16062. The Decline model free weight bench is a traditional Olympic bench which accommodates a 7’ wide Olympic bar, in which the back pad declines from the knee to the shoulders at a 15 degree angle. The model numbers can be found on the bottom of the tube near where the feet are placed with serial numbers C1208 through H0913 which stand for the manufacture dates, December 2008 through September 2013.

December 6, 2012 Cybex International Recalls Leg Press Due to Risk of Injury

This recall involves Cybex model 16110 plate-loaded leg presses used in commercial gyms. The leg presses have a metal frame, an adjustable backrest and can be ordered in a variety of colors. The name “Cybex” is located on the outer left side of the upper frame. The Serial Number label can be found on the lower main frame near the floor and ranges from D072216110 through G091416110.

October 29, 2008 Treadmill Recall
CPSC, Cybex International Inc. Voluntarily Recalls Treadmills That Can Potentially Increase in Speed Without Request.

This recall involves 115V ONLY Cybex 445T, 455T, 530T, 450T, 500T, 515T, and 520T treadmills. The 220V model treadmills are not involved in this recall. The subject treadmills are typically black with gray coloring and have elliptical shaped tube uprights. The 530T style treadmill is 81” (L) x 32” (W), and the 445T style treadmill is 72” (L) x 32” (W). They have a display panel that sits in a console as wide as the treadmill. “Cybex (treadmill model)” is written on the console. These treadmills were manufactured between January 2001 and October 2008. The required fix to the treadmills involves replacing the fuse on the lower control board.
The recall plan accepted by the CPSC includes the following:
Send replacement fuses at no expense to all dealers and commercial or end use customers with detailed instructions for replacing the fuses;
A certified service provider can be requested if the customer is unable or unwilling to perform the fuse replacement.

October 23, 2007 Treadmill Recall
CPSC, Cybex International Inc. Recalls Treadmills Previously Repaired Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the treadmills "Cybex 400T," "Cybex 410T," "Trotter 510," "Trotter 525", "Trotter 535", and "CXT+" that were recalled (link) on October 8, 2003 and later repaired. The treadmills are black with gray coloring, have rectangular uprights, and measure 69 inches long and 30 inches wide. The brands and models are written on the display panel. The “CXT+” model does not bear the brand Cybex or Trotter. These treadmills were shipped between September of 1993 and October of 2001.

"CXT+" is another recalled model but does not bear the brand Cybex or Trotter. These treadmills were shipped between September of 1993 and October of 2001.
